The technology of implanting fully-interfaced machinery with the human body is quite well developed in the 2020's. The entirety of the human body can be replaced a part at a time, or even wholesale (sometimes referred to as "full conversion", but this is quite rare.)

In addition to this, one of the most useful implants is a neuralware processor - a device that connects to your brain and converts its signals to and from electronic impulses understandable by machines. This is the basis of a lot of technology in the 2020s - Netrunning, Skillware and Smartgun links to name a few.

Another popular enhancement with security or military types is a reflex booster, designed to increase reaction speed.

The unfortunate downside to replacing large parts of your body, giving yourself superhuman capabilities or altering your perceptions and nervous system is that it puts a lot of strain on the human mind (see the cyber-psychosis section.)

Cyberware is popular, but gross cybernetics are not acceptable everywhere - and certainly not in executive circles. Nearer the top of the heap, people usually prefer their cyberware more discreet.
